A 16-year-old boy from Toronto succumbed to injuries after being shot by police during a traffic incident late Sunday night. The Ontario's Special Investigations Unit reported that the shooting occurred when police attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Sheppard Avenue and Bathurst Street. An exchange of gunfire ensued, leading to the boy being struck by police bullets. Following the incident, he was rushed to a local hospital where he ultimately died from his injuries. The SIU is currently conducting an investigation involving the two officers who fired their guns.
