Andor Season 2 Finale: Who Is Tivik and How Does He Connect to Rogue One?
Briefly

The 'Andor' series, despite viewers knowing Cassian Andor's fate from Rogue One, delivers a gripping narrative across 24 episodes, marking it as one of the best in the Star Wars franchise since 2018. Creator Tony Gilroy excels at linking this prequel series back to its source material seamlessly, avoiding typical fan service. The season finale emphasizes tension with an urgent message about the Empire's superweapon, showcasing Andor's transformation into a committed rebel leader as he takes decisive, albeit ruthless, actions in the face of danger.
Before Andor's first episode even premiered, Star Wars fans already knew Cassian Andor's fate. And yet, his 24-episode journey from a lowly smuggler to a hero of the Rebellion was still the greatest Star Wars story told on screen since Rogue One in 2018.
Even more admirable? Tony Gilroy's design to connect this Star Wars prequel series back to the prequel film is the smoothest transition I've ever seen for a franchise of this size. Fan service? Never heard of it.
In the season 2 finale, General Draven informs Andor that they've received an urgent message from one of their informants. It's Tivik who says that he'll only talk to Andor, who immediately reads the situation as a potential trap.
Andor shoots Tivik in the back. More stormtroopers arrive, and Andor can't risk Tivik revealing information about him or the Rebel Alliance. It's a cold-blooded move from Andor—the final transition for his commitment to winning the war.
