Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray's recent coaching partnership came to a conclusion after six months due to unmet expectations on the court. Djokovic emphasized his respect for Murray, highlighting the former champion's incredible tennis intellect. Looking ahead, Djokovic has shifted his focus to the Geneva Open and an upcoming meet against Hungary's Marton Fucsovics while confirming he would collaborate with old friend Dusan Vemic for the next tournaments, stating he currently feels no need for a coach. Djokovic continues to build momentum toward the French Open.
"We felt like we couldn't get more out of that partnership on the court, and that's all there is to it," Djokovic stated regarding his collaboration with Murray.
"It didn't work out as planned. We did not achieve together what we hoped in terms of results. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't," Djokovic explained.
"I think he has a brilliant tennis IQ, a very rare mind of a champion that obviously has achieved what he has achieved," Djokovic praised Murray.
"At the moment, I'm not in need of a coach... I'll link up with my long-time friend and former doubles partner Dusan Vemic for the upcoming tournaments," Djokovic confirmed.
