Deere Manitoba dealer merger cancelled
Greenvalley Equipment and Enns Brothers planned to merge in January to join forces as Manitoba’s two largest John Deere farm equipment dealers. Greenvalley President Curwin Friesen said the arrangement was cancelled after encountering considerable roadblocks and delays from the federal Competition Bureau, making the merger impractical. The Competition Bureau’s online listing indicates the proposed transaction was abandoned by the merging parties, without additional details. Greenvalley Equipment operates locations in Altona, Killarney, Morden (head office), and Treherne, and works with other Deere dealers across the Prairies through the AgriWestern Dealer Group. Enns Bros. operates locations in Arborg, Brandon, Melita, Morris, Neepawa, Oak Bluff (head office), Portage, Steinbach, and Shoal Lake.
