Briefly

The Beers, who own a 40-hectare farm in Midhurst, Ontario, are experiencing dire consequences due to excessive water runoff from the nearby Midhurst Heights subdivision project. Since construction began three years ago, their horse training facilities have faced significant flooding and safety hazards, prompting them to shutter most of their riding business. In April 2025, the situation worsened when the developer discharged large quantities of water, raising concerns over both the volume and quality of the runoff, which they fear could harm their property and horses.

"They pumped with two pumps for 10 days, 24 hours a day across the road, with hoses [going] down the trail and into our property."
