Slate Auto, an electric vehicle startup backed by Jeff Bezos, has raised $650 million to develop an affordable electric pickup truck. The Series C funding round was led by TWG Global. Slate plans to deliver its first EV later this year and has received 160,000 reservations for its minimal, modular Slate Truck. The truck will be produced at a $400 million factory in Warsaw, Indiana, creating over 2,000 jobs and contributing significantly to the local economy.
