""Luas staff will be on site to assist passengers throughout the disruption. To facilitate the demolition of the bridge, changes to the overhead power cables will be required. "After 7pm services will only run from Saggart and Tallaght to Smithfield. Morning services are unaffected."
The Georges Dock bridge was found structurally compromised after a recent fire and must be demolished and replaced. Luas Red Line services will be suspended between Connolly Station and The Point until the replacement bridge is completed at the end of November. Trams will continue to operate between Tallaght/Saggart and Connolly. A wheelchair-accessible replacement bus will run every 10 minutes during Luas operating hours from 1 September, and valid Luas tickets or TFI Leap Cards are required. Luas staff will assist passengers during disruption. Overhead power cable changes will curtail evening services on 2 and 3 September, with evening trams limited to Smithfield and morning services unaffected. Office access and routes to the 3Arena now require detours.
