In this installment of 'Crews on Cruise,' we spotlight Presley Pfereka, who turned her early life challenges into a successful career in the cruise industry. Originally from Zimbabwe, Pfereka supported her siblings after her parents' deaths and delayed her educational dreams. Her journey took a turn when she applied for a position on cruise ships, leading her to join Azamara as an assistant waitress, and later get promoted to payroll purser. Now living her globetrotting dream, she shares insights about teamwork and her love for poetry at sea.
"The more people I saw from different places, the more I wished that maybe one day I could travel," says Presley Pfereka, reflecting on her childhood aspirations.
"I had to pay school fees for all of my siblings. I had a passion for learning and was devastated that I couldn't continue my education, but I didn't want to deprive my siblings."
