"[City Fibre has unleashed] digital infrastructure competition to drive investment and innovation, and unlocking immeasurable benefits for consumers, businesses and the UK. We have overcome many challenges, and I can say with confidence that we have helped change the country for better, for ever,"
CityFibre is undergoing an executive transition as founder Greg Mesch steps down as chief executive after 15 years and will assume the role of vice‑chairman while Simon Holden, the current group chief operating officer, becomes CEO. The company has secured a substantial cash injection to accelerate its broadband infrastructure business and has built a fibre platform reaching over 4.5 million premises with nearly 700,000 customers, plus numerous business and public sector sites. CityFibre has raised more than A38bn and serves as a key delivery partner for the UK government’s Project Gigabit.
