Transport for London Customer Pulse survey (January–June 2025) found 39% of participants felt worried on public transport in the past three months. Nine percent of Londoners were completely or temporarily deterred from using a public transport mode after experiencing a worrying incident; most switched to another TfL mode either temporarily or permanently. TfL reported 29% of worrying incidents on the Underground and 30% on buses. The most cited Underground incidents were drunken passengers (21%), threatening behaviour or language including fighting (11%) and overcrowding (11%). On buses the top incidents were youth and school-related antisocial behaviour (15%), threatening behaviour (14%) and pushing and shoving (13%). TfL committed to working with police to prevent crime and reduce offending so journeys are safe and feel safe. Reports of violence increased.
