'He was raised on a farm, had a big interest in farming' - Teen killed, another hospitalised after Co Leitrim tractor crash

A tragic single-vehicle crash involving a tractor in Aghavilla, Carrigallen, resulted in the death of a teenage passenger. The driver, also a teenager, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. The deceased, a young farmer studying for an agriculture certification, was well-known in the area, sparking an outpouring of grief from the community. Local councillor Paddy O'Rourke expressed deep sympathy for the families affected and highlighted the community's commitment to supporting them during this difficult time.

"A male passenger of the tractor, aged in his late teens, was later pronounced deceased at the scene... It is believed the collision occurred close to the young man's home near Carrigallen."
