The incident occurred on the N24, a road known to be dangerous, after 10pm on Thursday night. The body of Ms English was recovered the following morning, leading to public condolences and community remembrance activities.
People are very upset out there. An 18-year-old girl, it's incredibly sad. It's horrible news to wake up to this morning all right. Awful.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of this lady. It's a very sad day for everyone.
