MacIntyre focus on major after landmark Scots win
Briefly

Robert MacIntyre, having recently won the Scottish Open, plans to approach his next tournament with renewed confidence. After becoming the first Scot since Colin Montgomerie to win this title, he feels poised to prepare for the following Open Championship without the pressure of securing a Scottish Open win. He reflects on his improved comfort level on the PGA Tour, attributed to a supportive team and the respect he has earned from peers. Despite his Ryder Cup ambitions, he remains focused on upcoming opportunities rather than rankings.
When I pitched up at the Scottish Open, it was all about winning the Scottish Open. But now I feel like I've got that. So now I can look at the week later at the Open.
I was a big believer when I first started, you earn the respect off of these top guys. I feel I've done that in the last eight months or so.
On that side of it I feel a lot more comfortable. At golf tournaments, competing, under the gun it's different. You're still uncomfortable but it's golf.
I'm not worried about it, there's a lot of golf to play before any thoughts turn to being part of the European captain Luke Donald's team.
