
A 37-year-old man from Islington in London was charged with fraud by false representation. He is accused of imitating a police officer to commit courier fraud and scam a woman into buying gold bullion worth more than £1m. The alleged offences occurred between 31 October 2025 and 28 April. The man did not attend a hearing at Cirencester Courthouse earlier. He is currently in custody. The hearing was adjourned until 16 June, and a provisional trial date was set for 25 January 2027.
