Man escapes unharmed after scaffolding collapses onto car in Stoke Newington

A man in Stoke Newington avoided injury after a large scaffolding structure fell onto his car early in the morning. Emergency services responded quickly, reporting the incident around 7:43 AM on Church Street near Albion Road. Although initial concerns suggested he might be trapped, firefighters confirmed he was uninjured and had exited the vehicle on his own. There were no additional injuries reported, but nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution, and a cordon was established, leading to road closures in the area.
Emergency services were called to Church Street at 7.43am following reports that scaffolding had fallen into the road, striking a car near the junction with Albion Road.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: 'It was reported that a man was potentially trapped inside the vehicle but firefighters discovered upon arrival that he had been able to leave his vehicle safely.'
