"A man who broke into a family home on Christmas Eve and beat a mother in front of her young children and stabbed her boyfriend has been jailed for six years. Stephen Power, (34), who had prior convictions including for arson, possession of knives, possession of drugs for sale or supply, burglary, theft, criminal damage, was sentenced by Judge Colin Daly at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court."

Stephen Power, aged 34, was sentenced to six years imprisonment at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court for a violent home invasion on Christmas Eve. During the attack, Power broke into a family home and assaulted a mother in the presence of her young children, then stabbed her boyfriend. One child fled barefoot from the house to alert neighbours. Power has an extensive criminal history including prior convictions for arson, knife possession, drug trafficking, burglary, theft, and criminal damage.
