Met Police special constable who groped schoolgirl in Tesco queue is sacked
Briefly

Hassnain Shahzad, a 27-year-old from Ilford, was convicted of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl two times in close succession. Despite these convictions on February 28, he was given a suspended sentence allowing him to remain free. Following his conviction, he was dismissed from his position as a special constable with the Metropolitan Police on February 6. His actions at a Bishopsgate store and subsequent targeting of the victim led Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor to conclude that only immediate dismissal was suitable due to the severity of Shahzad's behavior. The victim's mother and bystanders played crucial roles in seeking justice.
Shahzad was caught on CCTV approaching the young girl again on the pavement and touching her again, clearly avoiding others to target his victim.
The girl's mum expressed her daughter was distraught and just wanted to return home after the traumatic incident instead of their hotel.
Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor stated that the severity of Shahzad's behaviors warranted dismissal without notice, emphasizing the gravity of the conviction for abuse.
The mother praised two young women who intervened and suggested they return to Tesco to check the CCTV, demonstrating community support in crises.
