Nine-day closure to disrupt trains to Brighton over February 2027 half-term
"This major work next year is crucial to keeping services reliable for our Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink customers. Trains will be diverted and buses will replace services on affected routes for nine days."
"By giving people as much notice as possible, we're encouraging everyone to begin thinking about their travel options for next February, especially as some may find it easier to plan to work flexibly where they can over the affected period."
The Brighton Main Line will experience a nine-day closure from February 13th to 21st for essential engineering work. During this period, trains will start and terminate at Three Bridges, with rail replacement buses operating between Three Bridges and Brighton/Lewes. Southern will provide a direct train service from London Victoria to Brighton, but it will be diverted, increasing journey times. Network Rail will conduct track renewals, drainage repairs, and other maintenance tasks. Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly.
