Michael Hayes, 35 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to 10 counts of theft after repeatedly stealing products from the Moorgate branch of Boots between 7 May and 25 June, taking around £4,000 worth of goods. The thefts began with 15 tubes of joint and back relief gel worth £173 and included a later haul of about £792 comprising razor blade cartridges and skincare products. Hayes was jailed for 22 weeks and given a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from the Square Mile and all Boots stores in England and Wales. Police ran Safer Business Action Week crime-prevention activities during the sentencing.
