Tina Satchwell's remains were unearthed from her home over six years after her disappearance, showing severe decomposition that led to an inability to determine a cause of death. During a murder trial for her husband, Richard Satchwell, the State Pathologist, Dr. Margaret Bolster, stated that the remains were badly skeletonised and partially mummified, making the post mortem findings inconclusive. Richard Satchwell has pleaded not guilty to the charge of murdering Tina on an unspecified date in March 2017.
The cause of death, due to the very long post mortem interval, could not be determined. The cause of death is undetermined.
Mr Satchwell has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife Tina at a time unknown on March 19/20, 2017, at his home.
Dr Bolster, who has performed over 30,000 post mortem examinations, was giving evidence on the 15th day of Mr Satchwell's murder trial.
The remains were largely skeletonised, badly decomposed and were, in parts, mummified.
