Two Met Police officers spared jail after sexually assaulting woman during drunken night out at London casino
""Your behaviour was of itself obviously offensive to all right-thinking people. "There is, rightly, grave public concern at present concerning conduct of officers of the Metropolitan Police. The public is entitled to expect much better. "Your actions not only shame yourselves directly, but cause embarrassment and frustration for the vast majority of those serving who do uphold the high standards of behaviour that the public expect from the police.""
""While you have both lost your jobs, that is entirely inevitable and justified and the natural consequences of you having betrayed the uniform you both wore - the consequences of that for your family are of your own making.""
""palm to palm", when one of them said "that's not how you compare hand sizes", the court heard."
Two off-duty Metropolitan Police officers sexually assaulted a woman in a rooftop bar at the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square in the early hours of 22 April 2024. Jerome Beasley, 43, and Luke Robinson, 40, repeatedly touched the woman’s breasts in view of others and ignored her pleas to stop. Each faced three counts of sexual assault and changed their pleas to guilty days before trial. Judge Mark Weekes sentenced Robinson to 15 months and Beasley to 18 months, both suspended for two years, and said losing their jobs was inevitable given their betrayal of the uniform.
