Mr. Mullins, 57, passed away after a sudden illness. As the executive chairman of Amarenco, he significantly contributed to clean energy efforts. He previously led Bord Gáis and actively participated in local GAA clubs. His funeral was attended by prominent figures including Taoiseach Micheál Martin. Mourners paid tribute to him through personal memories and symbolic tokens reflecting his passions. His children honored him as a source of inspiration, commemorating his achievements, including the French Legion d'Honneur for his solar energy contributions.
During a tribute to Mr Mullins at the beginning of the mass, his daughter Sarah joked that his biggest regret in life was that she and her brother Micheál grew up to have "posh south Dublin accents."
Chief celebrant Fr Donal Cotter said Mr Mullins used his voice and influence to be "an advocate for clean energy and the community, leaving a lasting legacy through his work with Amarenco."
