Nadine Dorries defected from the Conservatives to Reform, declaring the Tory party dead and urging a Johnson–Farage alliance to unite the right. Dorries argued that both men could set aside egos to improve people’s lives and called for right‑of‑centre political talents to collaborate. Nigel Farage rejected a pact with Boris Johnson, accusing Johnson of creating a post‑Brexit immigration surge dubbed the "Boris wave" and saying the public would never forgive him. Reform policy chief Zia Yusuf labelled Johnson one of the worst prime ministers and said Johnson would not be welcome in Reform. Farage welcomed Dorries into Reform for her government experience.
