Police conducted a search warrant at the home of James Robinson, a former Guardian correspondent and founder of Woburn Partners, as part of an investigation into alleged Chinese spying. Robinson confirmed the search but stated he was not detained, arrested, or questioned. His wife, Gloria De Piero, a former Labour MP and current senior adviser to his firm, was not involved in the search. Anti-terror police arrested three individuals with Labour party backgrounds on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service under the National Security Act: David Taylor, Matthew Aplin, and Steve Jones. All three were released on bail. Robinson is the fourth person with Labour ties named in the investigation.
