Hundreds of people protested at hotels being used to accommodate asylum seekers across UK towns. An asylum hotel in Orpington drew demonstrators shouting "Get them out" and "Save our children" while counter-protesters held Stand Up To Racism placards reading 'Refugees welcome, Stop the far right'. Police formed a large cordon between groups and reported no arrests. In Cheshunt more than 250 anti-immigration protesters blocked a road, set off red flares and played "Rule, Britannia!" outside the Delta Marriott. Barriers and heavy police presence were deployed, and a former Homeland leader was seen among protesters. A High Court injunction ordered removal of asylum seekers from the Bell Hotel starting September 12.

An asylum hotel in Orpington, south-east London was the target of one protest, which saw dozens of people shout "Get them out" and "Save our children" while others held Union and England flags. Counter protesters, who had marched to the TLK, could be seen holding banners and Stand Up To Racism placards which read 'Refugees welcome, Stop the far right'.
In the town of Cheshunt, which neighbours Enfield in north London more than 250 anti-immigration protesters blocked an A road and set off red flares. Rule, Britannia! Blared from speakers as the group protested at the Delta Marriott hotel.
