London Underground fares will increase by 5.8% from March 2026, one percentage point above the rate of inflation. The national rail fare freeze will not apply to Transport for London services. Travelcard prices will be frozen until March 2027, leaving weekly and daily caps unchanged, and London bus and tram fares will not rise. The 5.8% rise was a condition of a £2.2bn capital funding deal agreed with central government. The bus and tram fare freeze until July 2026 is funded by City Hall. Pay-as-you-go Tube increases will be capped at 20p, with many rises limited to 10p.
