Phase 1 of the assembly polls in West Bengal achieved a record voter turnout of 92.25%. This turnout followed a Special Intensive Revision exercise that resulted in the deletion of more than 9 million voters from the electoral rolls. Out of 294 assembly constituencies, 152 participated in the first phase. The district of Murshidabad experienced the highest voter deletions and recorded a turnout of 93.55% during this phase of polling.
