Federal authorities are investigating a shooting involving ICE officers during a vehicle stop in Ontario. Officers encountered an unknown driver who was not their arrest target. Officers ordered the driver to exit, and the driver reversed his vehicle toward agents, attempting to run them over. An ICE officer fired defensive shots at the vehicle; the driver fled and abandoned the vehicle. Federal agencies including the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations and Ontario police responded to the scene. The driver was identified by family as 24-year-old U.S. citizen Carlos Jimenez, who was reportedly on his way to work. The incident follows another ICE shooting in South Los Angeles.
