[Spencer] Cox, the suspect was apprehended in a historic time period," FBI Director Kash Patel said. Officials are crediting "seamless" collaboration between local, state and federal law enforcement, as well as some 7,000 tips from members of the public, with speeding up the search for Kirk's alleged killer."

Surveillance footage shows alleged suspect Tyler Robinson arriving in a gray Dodge Challenger at 8:29 a.m., wearing a maroon T-shirt and light-colored shorts. Investigators tracked Robinson through stairwells to a roof roughly 150 yards from the courtyard tent, where he moved to a shooting location. Kirk was struck once in the neck while taking audience questions; the crowd fled and some students barricaded themselves in classrooms.
