Blizzard Warning Issued For NYC, Over A Foot Of Snow Expected
"NEW YORK CITY - The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the New York City area as a major snow storm is expected to hit Sunday through Monday. Light snow is expected to start falling Sunday morning through the afternoon. The heaviest amount of snow is poised to hit the area around 7 p.m. and continue through early Monday afternoon, according to the latest forecasts."
"New York City is projected to get upwards of a foot of snow, with around 13 to 18 inches possible, according to forecasters. One to two inches of snow could fall per hour, but heavier amounts are expected as we go into the overnight hours. Temperatures will drop below freezing Sunday evening. Wind gusts as high as 40 mph are also expected in the city."
