The doctored footage, which accumulated 11.1 million TikTok views, manipulated footage from a press conference to create false statements attributed to Tkachuk. He emphasized the video used neither his actual voice nor his lip movements, and stated such words would never come from him. Tkachuk also addressed social media accusations that he shouted "Close the northern border" during Team USA's celebration call with President Trump, denying involvement and clarifying the voice was not his.
