"A few minutes after midnight, Allen began to brutally beat the Hahn for about 18 minutes, the sounds of which were captured on Allen's exterior surveillance video, the DA said. The rear exterior surveillance video then captured Allen dragging the bruised and semiconscious Hahn onto the rear deck, where he was left, brutally injured and unable to stand."
"Allen, who was aware that Hahn was alive and in distress, was captured on video leaving and then returning with a plastic bag, then placing the bag over Hahn's head and securing it with a loose knot, Tierney said. Allen then sat on a lawn chair a few feet from Hahn while watching him struggle to breathe for about eight minutes."
"Allen then retrieved a large knife from inside his home and slowly stabbed Hahn in the neck 10 times, the DA said. He stood over him and watched as he took his last breaths, six hours after the torture began, the DA said."
Jeremy Allen, 44, was sentenced to life in prison without parole after being convicted of first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence in the death of Christopher Hahn, 43. The two men had been friends since high school. On September 27, 2024, after spending the evening at a bar, Allen brutally beat Hahn for approximately 18 minutes at his East Quogue home. Exterior surveillance video captured Allen dragging the injured Hahn onto the rear deck, then striking him repeatedly with a baseball bat. Allen subsequently placed a plastic bag over Hahn's head and watched him struggle to breathe for eight minutes before stabbing him in the neck ten times. Allen remained present as Hahn died six hours after the torture began. Following the murder, Allen attempted to clean the crime scene and contacted his handyman for assistance.
