"That summer, he stopped wearing his wedding ring and Sinema gave him a job as a national security fellow in her Senate office while he continued to work for her campaign as a bodyguard, the lawsuit alleges. Sinema also paid for psychedelic treatment for Ammel, who has struggled with post-traumatic stress, substance abuse and traumatic brain injuries tied to his military deployments in Afghanistan and the Middle East, according to the lawsuit."
Kyrsten Sinema faces a civil suit from Heather Ammel alleging that Sinema pursued and entered a romantic relationship with Heather's husband, Matthew Ammel, which led to the marriage's breakup. The complaint seeks at least $75,000 under North Carolina's alienation-of-affection law. The complaint says Ammel was hired after retiring from the Army in 2022 and accompanied Sinema on travels to Napa Valley, Las Vegas and Saudi Arabia. Ammel's wife discovered romantic messages in early 2024; he later stopped wearing his wedding ring and received a Senate office position while still serving as a campaign bodyguard. Sinema allegedly paid for psychedelic treatment for Ammel, who has PTSD, substance abuse issues and traumatic brain injuries.
