Expanded Logan Express location opens in Framingham
"The revamped Framingham Logan Express has reopened, offering expanded parking and faster shuttle service to travelers heading to Logan International Airport. On Thursday, the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), which operates Logan Airport, unveiled the rebuilt facility at 11 Burr St. The reopening follows months of renovations that began in January, with the goal of easing travel for those headed to the airport."
"The upgrades aim to boost shuttle frequency, lowering wait times from 30 minutes to 20 minutes at the busy MetroWest hub, which saw more than 685,000 last year. The renovated facility includes an additional 1,000 parking spaces, as well as more than 2,600 solar panels and electric vehicle chargers, WickedLocal reported. The facility's new solar panels will generate more than half of the building's energy, the first project of its kind in the nation, according to the report."
"Travelers utilizing Framingham Logan Express can expect another perk this summer. Massport plans to open a remote terminal on June 1 as part of a pilot program. The temporary terminal will allow Logan Express travelers to pass through security in Framingham before boarding the airport shuttle to Terminals A or C. Massport operates four other express hubs in addition to Framingham Logan Express. They are located in Boston's Back Bay, Braintree, Danvers, and Woburn."
