Sherrone Moore, 39, served as a Michigan assistant coach from 2018 and spent two seasons as the program’s head coach. Michigan terminated Moore, with cause, effective immediately after an investigation found an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. Local police detained Moore in Saline and turned him over to Pittsfield Township authorities for investigation into potential charges. Pittsfield police said the incident does not appear random and that there is no ongoing threat to the community. Moore was lodged in the Washtenaw County Jail pending prosecutor review and officials said the investigation is ongoing.
