Former Boston Public Schools teacher pleads guilty to child exploitation

"John Magee Gavin, 35, of Brookline, admitted guilt on one count of coercion and enticement of a minor, one count of receipt of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts said in a statement. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in July and remains in federal custody."

John Magee Gavin, 35, of Brookline, pleaded guilty to coercion and enticement of a minor, receipt of child pornography, and possession of child pornography. Gavin formerly taught at Josiah Quincy Upper School and previously worked at other Boston-area schools. Gavin messaged at least 20 underage females, ages 12 to 17, using a Discord account and contacted minors in multiple U.S. states, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He represented himself as a teacher, engaged in sexual conversations, and solicited sexually explicit images from the minors. Authorities identified and arrested him, and investigators recovered approximately 94 photos and 53 videos.
