A U.S. District Judge sentenced Jesus Moore, 36, to 10 years in federal prison and 10 years of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to traveling across state lines to have sex with a student. On March 7, 2022, Moore ordered a ride-hailing car to transport a Lawrence High School student to a Super 8 Motel in Manchester, New Hampshire, then travelled from Massachusetts to the motel. Moore provided the student with alcohol and engaged in sexual conduct when the student was incapable of consenting. Moore turned himself in and was arrested in February 2024. SafeSport notified Lawrence police, prompting investigators to contact Manchester police. U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan said Moore abused his position of trust and that the sentence reflects the severity of his conduct. Special Agent Michael Krol said Moore's actions were calculated to harm students and emphasized ongoing law enforcement efforts to protect children and prosecute predators.
