"Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act signed by President Trump last month, the attorney general is directed to "make publicly available in a searchable and downloadable format all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in the possession of the Department of Justice, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and United States Attorneys' Offices" related to Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell."
"More specifically, the law targets the release of information about individuals affiliated with Epstein's criminal activities, any decisions not to charge Epstein and his associates and "entities (corporate, nonprofit, academic, or governmental) with known or alleged ties to Epstein's trafficking or financial networks." The files include "more than 300 gigabytes of data and physical evidence" in the FBI's custody and internal Justice Department records from criminal cases against Epstein."
The Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed by President Trump, requires the attorney general to publish all unclassified DOJ and FBI records related to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in a searchable, downloadable format by Friday. The mandate targets information about individuals tied to Epstein’s crimes, prosecutorial decisions not to charge, and entities with alleged links to his trafficking or finances. The materials include more than 300 gigabytes of data, FBI-held physical evidence, and internal Justice Department records; some photos and videos of accusers, including minors, will be withheld. The law bars withholding or redacting records for embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity.
