Granada Hills' double-wing formation works to perfection in 50-16 win
"He's really a good player," said Brooks, who's also an NFL analyst. "He's shown ability."
""It was a solid performance," Brooks said. "It was something we can build on."
Granada Hills High ran the double-wing formation exclusively to a 50-16 victory over North Hollywood, avenging a prior City Section playoff loss. The Highlanders repeatedly ran the ball without attempting a pass, using the counter play to exploit a cramping North Hollywood defense. North Hollywood opened with a spread passing attack behind quarterback Logan Grant, but Granada Hills' nose tackle Jayden Garcia disrupted plays with a 12-yard sack and multiple tackles for loss. Quarterback Drew Rosales rushed for three touchdowns including a 76-yard run. Wingback Michael Osuna had two touchdowns including an 86-yard run. Troy Verso had an interception and a touchdown run, and Evan Barte-Plange recovered a kickoff fumble. Granada Hills will face Venice next week.
