Hundreds from the NASCAR community gathered at Charlotte's Bojangles Coliseum for a memorial honoring Greg Biffle and six others killed in a plane crash returning to Statesville, North Carolina. Victims included Biffle, 55; his wife Cristina; daughter Emma, 14; son Ryder, 5; Dennis Dutton; Dutton's son Jack; and Craig Wadsworth. Speakers recalled Biffle's 18-year top-level driving career, selection among NASCAR's top 75 drivers and Hall of Fame nomination. Attendees emphasized his humanitarian work delivering hurricane relief by helicopter and urged others to emulate his generosity, commitment to family and seizing opportunities.
