Vladimir Artamonov, 46, was arrested in Elkridge, Maryland, and charged with securities, wire and investment adviser fraud. The alleged scheme operated from September 2021 through February 2024 and reportedly took more than $4 million from Harvard Business School alumni and others. Investors were promised large returns with little risk and were solicited through the Harvard alumni network. One investor lost $100,000 and later died by suicide. An indictment was unsealed in Manhattan federal court. Artamonov was released on $300,000 bail with orders to avoid contact with victims and potential trial witnesses.
