Police in Clearwater, Florida continue investigating the July 24 death of Terry Bollea, known as Hulk Hogan. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death a natural heart attack. Detectives are interviewing multiple witnesses and obtaining medical records from various providers while withholding the 911 call and police body camera video until the probe concludes. Authorities have reported no evidence of foul play and noted Hogan's medical history included leukemia and atrial fibrillation. Investigators are coordinating with Hogan's family, plan to brief them before closing the case, and have given no timetable for public release of findings.
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died July 24 at age 71 at a hospital after paramedics and police rushed to his beachfront home in Clearwater following a 911 call. That call, and police body camera video of the scene, has not yet been released as the investigation continues. "All of this takes time," the police statement said. "Until the investigation is completed, no records related to the case, including body camera footage, can be released."
Investigators have been working with Hogan's family, including his son Nick and daughter Brooke, the statement said. "We plan to meet with the family and brief them on the case to this point, and we will share the results of the investigation with the family prior to closing the case and releasing it to the public and media," the police statement added.
