ICE Agent Shoots and Kills Woman at Minneapolis Protest
"Video footage shows a running car stopped perpendicular to the flow of traffic, with a woman in the driver's seat with the window rolled down. Two federal agents pull up in a truck to join other masked officers at the scene. The agents confront the woman, and a voice is heard saying "get out of the fucking car." One of the agents rushes to the driver's door and tries to pull the handle, but it is locked."
"As the agent tries to break in, the driver backs up, then begins driving forward, seemingly in an attempt to get around another stopped car and leave the scene. Just as the car begins moving forward, however, another masked federal agent appears around the front of the car and fires at the driver's head. Three shots can be heard. One witness told MPR that the federal agent had put his body on the front of the driver's car at the time."
Federal agents conducted immigration enforcement operations during a protest on a snowy residential street in Minneapolis where residents blocked their path. A 37-year-old U.S. woman was shot and killed during the encounter; the Department of Homeland Security confirmed the shooting and Senator Tina Smith identified the victim as a U.S. citizen. Multiple videos and witness reports captured the incident from several angles. Video shows agents confronting the woman, attempting to open her locked car door, and a later sequence in which a masked agent appears at the front of the car and fires three shots, killing her.
