Iran Vows To Respond After IAEA Passes Noncompliance Resolution
Briefly

The IAEA Board of Governors has officially declared Iran noncompliant with its nuclear nonproliferation obligations, marking a significant reversal since 2005. Adopted on June 12, the resolution may allow the reimposition of UN sanctions against Iran. Immediate Iranian responses included plans to establish a new enrichment site and upgrade centrifuges. The resolution's passage, backed primarily by the U.S. and European allies, reflects serious concerns about Iran's transparency regarding its nuclear activities, undermining international peace and security.

Iran's many failures to uphold its obligations since 2019 to provide the Agency with full and timely cooperation...constitutes noncompliance with its obligations under its Safeguards Agreement.
