LA man sentenced for enticing 13-year-old girl to run away with him in San Francisco
"Mr. Baylon Asuncion has acknowledged his wrongdoing and accepted responsibility for his conduct. He has expressed sincere remorse, both for his actions and for the impact they have had on the victim, the victim's family, and the broader community,"
"willingness to improve himself and plan for a future beyond incarceration."
Kingjohn Baylon Asuncion, 27, pleaded guilty to federal child enticement and was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in prison, a crime carrying a 10-year mandatory minimum. In 2020, Asuncion met the 13-year-old girl on Snapchat, convinced her to send nude photos and videos, and traveled from Las Vegas to meet her in San Francisco while she was on a family trip. The girl was missing for two days before being located and Asuncion arrested. Prosecutors noted his GED and substance-abuse coursework in custody; the defense called the conduct an aberration and said he expressed remorse. He was credited for four years spent jailed pending resolution. He allegedly acknowledged the girl was not "18+" and later told police he believed she was 16 and in high school.
