Alvardo repeatedly passed out while speaking to law enforcement and was charged with assault and driving while ability impaired. His defense attorney argued Alvardo only took prescription medications for anxiety and pain from a prior assault, which may have caused drowsiness. Alvardo claimed the crash resulted from sliding on ice. Blood tests remain incomplete. Miro suffered broken ribs, skull fracture, and brain injuries and remains in the ICU. Bail was set at $500,000 or $1.2 million bond.
