Leonard Mercury, possibly also using the names Leonard Cummins or John Cummins, disappeared after leaving Heywood Hospital around 2 a.m. on Oct. 31. He escaped by breaking a window and jumping from the second floor while in apparent mental and medical distress. He was wearing hospital clothing and no shoes and was headed toward a nearby bike path. K-9 units tracked his scent to the edge of a lake. Police, cadaver teams, and a private investigator have conducted searches. He is 57 years old, 6 feet tall, and weighs 195 pounds. "A Massachusetts man is still missing three weeks after escaping from a Gardner Hospital. Leonard Mercury, who may also be going by Leonard Cummins or John Cummins, was last seen leaving Heywood Hospital around 2 a.m. on Oct. 31, according to Gardner Police.
