McCoy, a top NFL draft prospect, expects 'no limits' at pro day
"I can do everything. No limits. I got back to training and I just felt like myself again. I mean, I made a big impact the year that I played and I was ready."
"I just feel like when you're ready, you're ready. I felt ready to come out and talked with my family, my agent, my coaches. They're all on the same boat as me and agree with everything I was seeing."
"I got cleared. I was doing everything, practicing, everything. I just didn't feel ready yet."
Jermod McCoy, a former Tennessee cornerback, sustained a torn ACL in January 2025 that caused him to miss the entire 2025 season. Speaking at the NFL combine, McCoy expressed complete confidence in his recovery, stating he has no physical limitations. Though he underwent medical exams at the combine, he chose to wait until Tennessee's pro day to perform on-field drills for additional preparation. McCoy decided to enter the draft despite his injury and remaining eligibility, citing readiness and support from family, agents, and coaches. In his single season at Tennessee, he earned Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist status, first-team All-SEC selection, and second-team AP All-American honors. ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper ranks McCoy as the 13th player on his draft board.
