"The U.S. Marshals Service were reportedly helping police in Albuquerque, New Mexico search for veteran TV actor Timothy Busfield, three days after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges that he engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with two underaged brothers who had appeared in a TV series he was directing. As of Monday evening, the whereabouts of Busfield, the 68-year-old husband of Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert, were unknown, Albuquerque police told TMZ and People."
"According to the arrest warrant, the allegations against Busfield stem from a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) alerting officers about a case of reported sexual abuse in 2024, People reported. The boys' parents said they were advised by an attorney to take the children to UNMH, where they said professionals suggested the boys were groomed. At the time, it was determined that the case did not meet authorities' acceptance criteria, People reported."

Busfield was unlocated as of Monday evening. Police allege he groomed and molested 11-year-old twins during production of The Cleaning Lady, with one victim saying abuse began at age seven. A 2024 UNMH doctor alerted officers after parents, advised by an attorney, brought the children to the hospital where professionals suggested grooming, but authorities initially declined the case. In October 2025 the victims' mother filed a police report and told CPS of abuse from November 2022 to spring 2024.
