"I opened it, and it was wrapped in so much plastic - I was just in shock,"
"I was like, 'Oh my God, this is not my dress.'"
"Today, the rightful owner of the wedding dress that was accidentally given to me in 2010 ... came and picked up her dress. I'm so happy it found its way back to her. Because social media made that possible, I'm putting this out there one more time - even if it's a long shot - in hopes of finding my dress."
Kathleen Shea Dunleavy opened a preserved wedding-dress box from her attic and found a gown belonging to another bride from Salem, New Hampshire. The rightful owner was identified and reunited with her dress after Dunleavy shared the story and photos on Facebook. Dunleavy believes her own gown was mistakenly swapped in November 2010 when her father picked up a preserved box from Deluxe Cleaners in Methuen following processing by Prestige Preservation. Dunleavy is seeking information about Deluxe Cleaners' ownership during that period and hopes her missing gown may have been donated, consigned, or remain unopened.
